What is Beyond Networking-STL?

Beyond Networking-STL is a group of job seekers and business professionals. Its mission is to help others as they are pursuing a new position or a career change.

We are here to help you achieve your goals and offer you moral support while you develop and explore new ideas in your job search.

After the GO! Network dissolved, Jon Hild founded the group and chose this time slot and variation in its approach in order to provide the services that GO! Network no longer could.

Volunteers are welcome!


Where and when does Beyond Networking-STL meet?

We meet at the Salem United Methodist Church, 1200 S. Lindbergh, St. Louis, MO 63131. Salem United Methodist Church and all of their personnel have all been very gracious and welcoming. The location is central to the St. Louis metro area.

Very easy directions are: from Creve Coeur and west county take HWY 40/64 East towards downtown. Exit at Lindbergh Blvd.  Make a LEFT under the Highway, and after about a block make a near-immediate right.  The Church and steeple are VERY visible.

We meet in the Great Room (with rare exception). Meetings are every Tuesday from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.


How many people typically attend? Do attendees register to attend or just show up?

Twenty to forty people are usually in attendance. Our meetings are open, no registration is required, and are free of charge to all job seekers and business professionals.

Each week we welcome new people and ask them to share a little bit about themselves (if they would like to), including a few target companies and/or industries.


What is a typical meeting agenda?

8:30 – 9:00 Registration and networking
9:00 – 9:10 Opening remarks and presenter introduction
9:10 – 11:00 Program presentation
Post-program: Everyone is invited to share their brief “elevator introduction” with the group and to stay for post-program networking.


What is the meeting format?

Meetings commence with an extended opportunity to network and exchange business cards. The guest speaker is then introduced and the presentation given, followed by several minutes of questions and answers.

Following the presentation, announcements regarding further networking opportunities are made.

People are then given several minutes to introduce themselves, give an elevator speech, and let the group know what they are looking for. If they have them, attendees are encouraged to list any of their target companies so that others can be on the lookout for possible leads and contacts.

We may ask attendees whom have had recent interviews/job offers if they would like to share a success story with the group.

At the conclusion of the meeting, there is further opportunity to network and exchange business cards.


Are refreshments provided?

There is plenty of coffee and water available. No other refreshments are provided.
